Real name Kumari Manju Verma
Kumari Manju Verma is an Indian politician who served as a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly representing the Cheria-Bariarpur constituency. She held the position of Minister of Social Welfare in the Bihar Cabinet, where she was the sole female minister, before resigning in 2018 amid legal and political controversies.
She resigned in August 2018 following public outrage over the Muzaffarpur shelter home abuse scandal, which fell under her department's jurisdiction and implicated her husband. She was later suspended from the JD(U) and arrested under the Arms Act after a CBI raid at her residence recovered prohibited live ammunition.
